WHEN AND WHERE

Round Rock, Texas
November 9 - 11, 2012
Friday - Sunday

The 15th annual Millenniumcon Historical Miniature Convention will once again be at the Wingate Hotel and Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas.

The convention is Friday through Sunday, November (TBA).

As has been suggested, the session times have been adjusted to allow for a 1.5 hour lunch break, a two hour dinner break between games and more time to browse the fleamarket before Sunday games begin. We have also, based on a suggestion, added an extended Sunday session that lasts from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

We have discontinued the RPGA/RPG sessions to allow more room for the historical miniatures. This will add an additional five tables per session, in addtion to, more player slots for the FOW and FOG tournaments (coordinated by Rob Smith et al of Great Hall Games.

We've arranged special room rates for Millennium attendees ($84 plus tax). If you mention LSHM when you make your reservation, you'll get your rooms at a discounted rate. Be sure to mention you are with LSHM. It gets you a lower rate (normal rate is $99) and reduces the cost of the convention area, which, in turn, helps keep down the registration fees !

You must make reservations by phone (512-341-7000). Internet reservations for the Wingate Inn in Round Rock do not give the special discount.

There is also a complimentary hot breakfast, free internet, and room microwaves and refrigerators.

Huuuuge thanks for all the support we received at Millennium this year. The show was a big success and for the volunteers that work so hard to put it together, that is our reward. It could not have happened without the GMs, the vendors, and all the players. Thanks to all of you. And thanks to the staff of Millennium 14 - you make it all come together.

Our Friday night got a big boost thanks to the Flames of War tournament that Great Hall Games put on. It was full with 24 players, the top winners getting to go on to a National event. This tournament seemed to boost our overall Friday numbers to make our best Friday ever. The Battletech tournament had very good attendance this year, too. Because of that, Saturday morning registration was less of a 'crush' at the sign-in desk since more people checked in on Friday night.

Richard did a remarkable job scheduling about 28 games for each of the time slots (120 total), and most of the amazing games you guys put on were full, some even accepted more than advertised. We have already considered some plans to add more tables and more games to each time slot, possibly even changing the hours of some time slots as well.

Sunday morning always sees the crush of the Flea Market and we changed a couple things up this year. Bargains galore were had. And we had lots of games on Sunday, which we annually are not blessed with, and most of them were full also. Special thanks to those GMs who registered and ran Sunday games and the players that stuck around to play them.

The LSHM Challenge Cup was a very tight affair this year with several great games competing. The judging was very tight with the outcome coming down to the second place votes. The Millennium 14 Cup Challenge was won by Francisco Erize for his game The Battle of Maipu - Chile 1818. The Challenge has definitely increased the quality of the games that are put on at Millennium.

The Dealers room was well represented with new vendors - some from out of state - and dealers from past Millenniums. Each was very happy to have exhibited at Millennium and most have pledged to be back next year. Thanks for supporting our vendors, guys - their participation will help our con grow.

The Field of Glory tournament almost tripled the number of players from last year year, Overall attendance seemed to be slightly down from the past mainly due to the transition from RPGA-Miniatures to just Miniatures.

So, overall, we are calling this a successful Millennium. It was well-attended , the games that were put on were top quality, with most games being full to capacity.

Again - thanks to everyone who helped to make Millennium 14 the success it was!

Take care and see you at 15

What kind of convention is Millennium?

Our convention caters to many different gaming tastes and styles. Unlike other conventions that support multiple genres, we don't have one group trying to be all things to all people. The historical miniatures and board gaming events are hosted by Lone Star Historical Miniatures. There are also a limited number of RPG but the emphasis is on miniatures. This is what makes Millenniumcon the largest miniature convention is Texas.

Lone Star Historical Miniatures

Lone Star Historical Miniatures serves both the states of Texas and Louisiana. We promote miniatures wargaming in both the historical and fantasy/sci-fi groups.  We are not dedicated to one rule set, we encourage diversity.

The annual Millennium Gaming Convention in Austin is coordinated by the LSHM Millennium Gaming Convention (an owed entity of LSHM). The Millennium Convention offers miniatures, board games, card games and tournaments. We also have a dealer room with both retailers and manufacturers.

Least we forget the Millennium Conventions, you are invited to revisit the convention by viewing the Millenniumcon 14 photo album and the 2010 game list.
